Corporate brochures for internal and external communications...

Many businesses produce brochures, now often in pdf format, for both internal and external use. From Annual Reports and Accounts, to Corporate Responsibility and Health and Safety, companies promote themselves not just through advertising and marketing, but also through how responsible they are, to their employees, their financial performance, environmental considerations and charitable donations.

Printed envelopes...

Why wait for someone to open an envelope to deliver your message? With printed envelopes you can have it there on the outside, delivering your marketing message before the envelope is even opened!

Repeating logos...

The cut-sheet paper industry often has a requirement for printed wrappers for reams of paper. These can of a particular single design, although quite often a repeat pattern can be used to create what is in effect just wrapping paper, as was the case here.

Folding and binding...

There are many ways to fold and bind paper and board, illustrated below are just some of them, created using Illustrator.

Iconography...

In today's fast moving world the use of icons is becoming ever more prevalent. The following, as is usual here, are relevant to paper. Hover over each image for a brief description of their meanings.

Suitability

Folders...

The following folder was designed to hold A4 samples of various papers suitable for digital printing processes. Some samples would be pre-printed and others blank for testing purposes. This particular folder requires no glueing, and is simply held together using tabs and slits.

Flyers...

Although there are plenty still being produced, paper flyers and leaflets are giving way to their e-mail equivalents. Sometimes a single design can be used as both, and that is exactly what happened with these featured below. Some can simply be jpegs of the original artwork, whilst others can be specifically designed as e-mail templates, then re-worked to create a paper equivalent.

Certificate design...

People love receiving certificates, and the more "special" you make them, the more they appreciate them! The following were all designed to be pdf files with editable fields, so that new certificates could be printed, using standard office colour laser printers, as and when required.

Some random images...

Here are just a few random images I've taken over the past few years, with a little help from Photoshop in some cases!

1930s Bentley dashboard.
British soldiers.
Camping stove macro.
If there's a cattle grid, its pretty obvious that we should expect cattle!
Curious!
Arundel castle, West Sussex, England - but you'll never see it looking like this!
Says it all, really!
Plastic duck family!
Running on empty!

Powerpoint!

The curse of Powerpoint! How many times have we all had to sit through those endless Powerpoint presentations, unable to read what's there, as the originator just didn't have a clue? Too much information on one slide! Poor quality graphics downloaded from the internet! Bog-standard Powerpoint templates, and every single transition effect available!

A simple well designed template with clear graphics and just a few words speak volumes. As they say, a picture paints a thousand words!

Photography and photo retouching...

As we all know, there's nothing like Photoshop for bringing that extra dimension to digital photography. From simple retouching, to outright image manipulation. Here are just a couple of my own examples.

Logos and icons added to an otherwise plain stock photograph of a packaging carton.

The original photograph of this 1950s Edsel Pacer was taken outdoors, in a park, at a Classic Car show. After considerable Photoshop work, the above two images were achieved.

Logo design...

Logos are an important aspect of product and corporate branding. From a simple corporate logo, to stylish product logos, or simply just wacky! Here's a small selection of those designed by me.
